DMDL, Inc. is seeking Academic Counselors to provide counseling services to students enrolled in nonpublic schools in Chicago and whose grade levels range from K-12. Independent Contractor Positions to commence in late August 2010.

Profile

Applicants must possess knowledge of academic counseling techniques for individuals and groups, as well as an understanding of instructional theories, curriculum and program planning. Additionally, applicants must possess the ability to assist students in developing skills in decision making, listening, discussion, communication and self-discipline; with an emphasis on preventive and developmental counseling to enhance students' personal, social, and academic growth and to provide students with the life skills needed to deal with problems before they worsen. Successful candidates will be able to apply the skills and techniques of academic counseling as part of a team, in collaboration with school faculty, supplemental instruction personnel, and parents when necessary
