Discover Music: Discover Life's (DMDL) mission is to enhance student academic achievement and life skills through supportive mentoring and by developing and implementing standards-based curricula.
Using a direct instructional approach that connects every day life to music, the DMDL Curriculum helps students improve perceptive listening, critical thinking and creative participation skills. Through practical application and integrated, standards-based content, the curriculum addresses national and state goals for reading, math and fine arts.
Using our arts-based reading and math curriculum, we incorporate interventional Tutoring, Academic Counseling and Fine Arts instruction. Ours is a student-centered program, and using a variety of activities, each child receives skill-appropriate instruction specific to his/her learning style. Our tutoring initiative uses individual and small-group dynamics to encourage reluctant learners and build confidence in the cooperative experience.
